Children

Children from Brazil are not different from children in Chernobyl. Their misfortunes can be felt here and there. Our children are yellow. Their skins stick to their bones and their stomachs ask for food. Their smiles are dirty and their homes are in the corners of Brazilian cities. Children from Brazil are deformed such as the children from Chernobyl. Their bodies are transformed not by genetic mutations of radioactivity, but by the hands of unscrupulous inhumane beings, fanatics for unhealthy sexual pleasure and by the use of those delicate hands in slave work. Children from Brazil and Chernobyl play hide-and-seek with death and do not only fear. They panic. In Chernobyl children are born with more members, more eyes than usual, or even nothing. There is no Ukraine but skulls. Children from Brazil lose their arms, legs, eyes, pleasure, and even their lives on sugarcane crops, in coal-houses, at traffic lights and brothels. Children from Brazil and Chernobyl do not think as children because children they are not. They are creatures without form, without life. They are radioactive waste. They are, no doubt, dumb and telepathic beings.
